Terms of Service
Welcome to pakt. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the pakt mobile application and website (the "Service") operated by pakt, Inc. ("pakt," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use pakt. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account immediately.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Keep your password confidential and not share it with anyone
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- Not create multiple accounts or accounts on behalf of others without permission
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use pakt only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Post content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Spam other users or send unsolicited messages
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to interact with the Service
- Attempt to reverse engineer or circumvent the security of the Service
- Use the Service to collect user information without consent
4. User Content
You retain ownership of content you create and post on pakt. By posting content, you grant pakt a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
5. Social Features
By using pakt's social features, you understand that:
- Your friends on pakt can see which events you've RSVPed to
- Friends-of-friends visibility is opt-in and controlled by your privacy settings
- Group chats auto-create when friends match on events; you may leave any group chat at any time
- Group chats are archived 7 days after the associated event ends
6. Third-Party Integrations
pakt integrates with Spotify, Eventbrite, and Ticketmaster. Your use of these integrations is subject to those parties' own terms and privacy policies. pakt is not responsible for third-party content, accuracy, or practices.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding user content), features, and functionality are the exclusive property of pakt, Inc. and its licensors. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written consent.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause or notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting support@pakt.app.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. PAKT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. pakt does not guarantee that events listed are accurate, available, or will occur as described.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PAKT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in New York, NY, pursuant to the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
12. Changes to Terms
We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
